As the NHS undertakes its most ambitious digital transformation yet, the HSJ Digital Awards 2027 will recognise the NHS's most ground-breaking digital projects, services and teams, whose successful digital implementations are already delivering measurable value against the ambitions of the 10-Year Health Plan.

Now in its fifth year, the HSJ Digital Awards will feature 25 categories, including six new categories aligned with the NHS's national priorities – from neighbourhood and community care to maternity, children's care and long-term condition management. With a focus on improving patient experience, driving innovation and boosting productivity, the programme showcases the full breadth of digital solutions transforming health and care.

Why enter?

  • Gain national recognition by showcasing your achievements: establish your organisation as a digital transformation leader, and build the employer brand needed to inspire, retain and recruit top talent.
  • Improve staff culture and boost morale: the HSJ Digital Awards gives you a platform to recognise the hard work of your team, shifting the conversation from challenges to achievements, and recognising the real impact on patient care.
  • Benchmark your success: measure your digital transformation against peers from across the sector, and set a standard for excellence. Gather holistic feedback from a judging faculty, and show colleagues that anyone can get involved with digital.
  • Proactively manage and strengthen your organisation's reputation: entering lets you actively shape how your organisation is viewed in the health and care community. As NHS England's functions transfer into DHSC and ICBs merge into larger, leaner bodies, an independent, credible stamp of recognition is a genuine asset – helping teams protect profile and build the case for continued investment.
  • Drive the national digital agenda: shortlisted projects feature on HSJ Best Practice, the UK’s leading repository of validated NHS best-practice case studies.

Who should enter?

  • Clinicians, operational teams, analysts, digital and transformation teams - any NHS team delivering transformation or tangible value through technology
  • Entries can be individual nominations, organisation-wide projects, or system-level collaborations
  • This awards programme is open to public and third-sector organisations
  • Private sector entries are permitted in the HSJ Partnership Awards and Independent Healthcare providers can submit entries in the IHP Awards
